Head Dress Thomas

The Omani men wear their ghutra very different from the Saudi men.  First of all theirs are colorful not just red and white.  Then it wraps around their heads instead of just hanging.  Thomas was the model for how it is done multiple times.  He looked really cute in them!

Salalah Souk

Our last stop for the day was at the local souk.  Salalah is known for its frankincense so we bought a little.  We got Thomas & Tom the Omani hats as well as a camo head scarf for Thomas.  Lily got an entire Omani traditional outfit.  She has the Middle East performance this year at school so this will be perfect for her.  After shopping we headed down to the beach for a few minutes to check it out.  

Mirbat

Mirbat where we ate lunch.  It is a cute little fishing town where the dowel boats come in.  We were able to see several of the old homes in town.  We ate lunch by the water, did some shelling and checked out the fishing boats coming in.  The kids were amazed with the sharks that were caught.
