Tom went to London for a week for a business trip.  He had a great time seeing all the Christmas lights!

Airport Round Up

We couldn't take the cold anymore and headed back to the warmth of the airport.  The kids entertained themselves for the rest of our time in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Main Train Station

Our last stop in Frankfurt was the Central Train Station.  It was really cool to see.  It is the busiest train station in Germany.  The kids were impressed and kept comparing it to Hugo.  It was opened in 1888 and is just what you picture a station looking like.  We really enjoyed seeing it and the trains!

Bridge Crossing

They had a pedestrian walkway across the river which we crossed.  It was pretty to see the boats going under it.  The kids were fascinated with all the locks that were attached all over the bridge.

Staying Warm

Since it was FREEZING outside we were constantly looking for things we could do to stay warm.  Since most of what there is to see in Frankfurt is just seeing and not doing we got creative.  We spent sometime in the subway and Starbucks in order to warm up.  The kids loved their hot coco at Starbucks.

Romer

Our first big sight we saw was Romer.  This is an area in Frankfurt that is from Roman times.  Other than the buildings there isn't much to see.  There is no where to go into like a museum.  It was still neat to see but we were cold.

McDonald's Love

My kids LOVE McDonald's.  They do not ever eat it here in Saudi.  We have it but we aren't willing to drive off camp to go get it.  Therefore it becomes a huge treat when we are traveling.  They had it three times in Frankfurt.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Lily was thrilled to have a sausage mcmuffin for breakfast!

Frankfurt in Six

We were originally suppose to have a three hour layover in Frankfurt, Germany but the airlines moved the flight by twelve hours therefore giving us a fifteen hour layover.  We decided to go out and explore since none of us have been to Germany before.  It was brutally cold!!  34 degrees.  We were coming from 95+ in Saudi Arabia.  We froze, with only hats, gloves and sweatshirts!!!  We only made it about six hours out and about before retreating back to the warmth of the airport.  We covered a lot of ground in that six hours and saw everything there was to see in Frankfurt, which isn't a ton.
