Random April

Lily won 3rd place and Thomas won 1st at Awana crazy hat night.

Lily turned 7 years old!! She started the day off at 4:30 am jumping up and down in front of our bed. She was saying she was too excited to sleep it was her birthday! We told her to go back to bed. She got a crown to wear at school and it stayed on her head the entire rest of the day. We had a home party since she wanted to open presents. Her cake came out pathetic looking but tasted good. The butter here is really messing up my already lousy cooking. At her party she got an American Girl dress for her and her doll which she thought was just too cool! Books, water sinker toys which her and Thomas are super excited about, barbie clothes, and a promise of an Ipad 2. (It is coming over this month with some of our friends parents.) Yes she is spoiled! In case you can't tell from the photos she is all girl. Smiles and laughs at everything, has to be center of attention and just happy. And yes she does have on three outfits in one day!

Sand Rose Digging Take Two

So we threw together a last minute sand rose digging expedition. Our neighbors Dave and Dottie are retiring in June and heading back to Texas. They haven't gone sand rose digging yet so several us decided to take them. The group just mushroomed and ended up with almost 40 of us (including kids) going. Since Tom and I were the only ones in the group that had been recently we were in charge of getting us all there. We hit a few snags but managed. The biggest change was the sand has been pushed around so we had abandon the one mini van and pile into the 4x4's. This was also Tom's Land Rover's first trip out and it did great!

We didn't find the large bowling ball size ones like we did when we went before but we found lots of smaller ones which were what I needed. (I want to bring some home for people.) It was also very hot this time around but still a lot of fun!
