Shell Love

Zanzibar doesn't allow you to take shells.  I knew that before we went.  I had been told though there weren't really any to take anyways.  I was lied to!!!  Oh my they were EVERYWHERE and such cool ones!!!  It was tortuous to walk the beach and not be able to take any with me.  Especially my prize one I found!

Beach Friends

The kids met Owen and Noah.  They live in Abu Dhabi but are Scottish/Zambian.  They turned the resort and beach into their personal play ground.  When the tide was in they figured out how to climb the tower for who knows what and enjoyed jumping off it.  They had a great time!

Pool Love

The pools were beautiful but rather chilly.  We still enjoyed spending time in them.

Zanzibar

We've had lots of friends rant and rave about how wonderful Zanzibar is.  So we decided to spend some time there after our Safari.  Technically they are part of Tanzania but they consider themselves independent.  It was a nice time but it is VERY 3rd world primitive.   Zanzibar is a Muslim country which we knew I just didn't realize it was like Saudi Muslim.  Full abaya's, burka's.  Doesn't make one want to bounce around in beach clothes.  The resort was beautiful and we really didn't leave it.
