Misc Nov

Randomness from the month.
  • It rained here the other morning and Lily came down asking if school would be cancelled because of the rain.  By the way it is in the 60s now and cold.  I told her no this isn't like snow.
  • Lily is also now cooking breakfast for the family.  She has learned how to make Grammylu's microwave eggs and loves to cook.  She didn't get that from me.
  • Thomas is a sand castle building fool.  He disappears to the sand box most Friday mornings to build for an hour plus.

Rotten!

Holiday Spirt

We put our tree and lights up the day after Thanksgiving.  We leave here on the 10th for our first repat back to the States.  Tom hasn't been home in a full year!  We realized we left way too much Christmas in our storage container that will need to come back with us.  This was also the first year I had help with the tree.  Both kids helped me set it up and decorate it.  Since we left all of our special ornaments it looks very different from our previous trees but we are still enjoying it.  The other hit is the Santa I brought back from Mimi's.  Everyone loves him and he looks great in our window!

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year.  We had one family of friends over to join us.  Jessica, Nicoli, Albert & Michelle.  This was my first Thanksgiving making everything and thanks to numerous calls to Mama the rolls & Mimi's pumpkin pie came out!  Getting everything we needed proved to be a challenge.  Since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Saudi finding things like pumpkin, turkeys, knox gelatin, and ginger can be tricky.  Thankfully this place is truly a small community and what I couldn't find in stores friends gave to me, like ginger.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Dog Days...

Bud & Sammy have some new friends.  We took them out to the jebels to play and let the kids play as well.  Part of the fun was letting the kids ride on the roof top while the dogs chased the car.  They all thought it was a great time!

Awana Bike Rodeo

The kids enjoy Awana.  It is somewhat like Wed night church just it is held on Mondays here.  They had a bike rodeo and both kids went.  They had a lot of fun.  They had to do different events on their bikes like barrel racing, coasting, paper boy route & hockey to name a few.  Lily won 2nd place out of all the Sparky's (the younger kids groups, Thomas is in T&T.).  She was so proud of herself!
